Solar Shaman
After watching an episode of the show ‘Ancient Apocalypse’ I became fascinated with Angkor Wat, a Hindu-Buddhist temple complex in Cambodia. This piece explores its precise cosmic alignments of the temples and whether it predates known history and holds lost knowledge of energy, consciousness, and sacred geometry.
I imagined a shaman standing before the main temple in altered states of awareness, accessing a gateway to wisdom. Performing a ritual to celebrate one of the equinoxes. The Sun light channels into the temple and pyramids, referencing theories of lost energy technology. The pyramids are in his visions and link to a shared ancient Egyptian knowledge. His necklace represents Angkor Wat’s alignment with the sun’s equinoxes. From a bird’s-eye view, if you map the temples and draw lines through their positions, the pattern mirrors the necklace’s design. The small circles represent the temples, while the larger circles depict the sun at different equinox points throughout the year, marking observation sites where the sun would set perfectly over specific temples. Ankgor Wat might have been part of an advanced, forgotten system of knowledge and it’s deeply interesting to me.
